Simon trained in London, and danced for  11 years at Dutch National Ballet (HNB), gaining a background in all major ballet traditions. Afterwards he studied the craft of teaching in London, and received his Professional Dancers’Teaching Diploma (PDTD).

In 1988 he started teaching  as a guestteacher with Krisztina de Châtel, HNB, Ballet Rambert, and he was a highly in demand  guestteacher,  traveling the world to Paris Opera School, National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Rambert, Introdans , Scapino, NDT, Ballet Frankfurt (Forsythe), Cullberg Ballet (Sweden) Scottish Ballet, Ballet de Monte Carlo (Maillot), Finnish National, Dusseldorf (Vamos), ROSAS/Parts (de Keersmaeker), and many others for years. He also worked with Pacific Nothwest Ballet, USA, as a teacher and ballet master.
Simon became Director of the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, and taught at all dance departments of the Theaterschool Amsterdam (now ATD). For the last 5 years he has worked as a senior teacher at Codarts, Rotterdam.

Simon brought his profound professional knowledge to HJS as being member of the board for many years. We now are very happy that Simon is back with us as Ballet teacher!
