Subsidy for Corona related projects / Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst

Together with the City of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK) is opening a ‘snelloket’ for Amsterdam art projects that are a reaction to the corona crisis. As of today, Tuesday 14 April, the AFK Snelloket will be open; makers and organisations can apply for a minimum of 1,500 euros and a maximum of 5,000 euros. Applications will be processed within five working days. The “Snelloket” is intended for professional artists, amateur art and organizations that fall outside the structural subsidy of the Municipal Arts Plan. These are art projects that reflect on the corona crisis and projects that reach an audience – often digital – now that art institutions are closed.

DAILY HJS CLASSES ONLINE STARTING 6 APRIL ON ZOOM

This 25th Jubilee-year turned out to be a very weird one, as we find ourselves in a new society, with closed studios, until at least 20 May.
We hope all of you are doing ok. These days, taking care for each one’s and each other’s health is the most important thing to do, and sticking to the hygienic and social distancing rules stays very important. This time learns us, more than ever, how important it is to keep connected and be able to communicate with each other.
HJS could never have existed for 25 years if we hadn’t tackled challenges in a creative way before. So we can’t wait to get back to do what we have been doing all these years: offering dance classes and get you moving altogether! Not only to keep up with your technique and stamina, but to join together, even if we find ourselves in different places.
We will start with a pilot week this Monday 6 April, with one class each day, keep in touch with Facebook / Instagram and our website.
Online classes in the pilot week 6-11 April will be free of charge.
Please give us feedback, we will also do a Poll on Instagram by the end of next week.
See below for info about how to join.
Take care and enjoy!

Corona dossier / closure extended until 28 April

On March 31 the Dutch government decided that all measures taken in the Netherlands to combat coronavirus will be extended until Tuesday 28 April inclusive. In the week before 28 April, the government will assess what measures are necessary in the period after that date. The government urges people to stay at home during the Easter weekend.

Keep your distance

Stay home as much as possible. You can go outside, but where possible keep a distance of 1.5 metres, or two arm’s lengths, from each other. Avoid all social activities and groups of people.
