Kristina Alleyne

Kristina is an award-winning dancer and co-artistic director of Alleyne Dance (AD), which is a UK based company with an international reach, founded in 2014 by herself and award dancer and twin sister Sadé Alleyne.

The choreographic aesthetic reflects the sisters diverse background in athleticism and dance training. Within their abstract contemporary construct, Alleyne Dance blend West African, Caribbean, Hip Hop, Kathak and Circus Skills, delivered as fast paced and dynamic movement. They infuse lyrical and fluid motion, layered with rhythm and textures in physically powerful, yet graceful performances. Alleyne Dance strives for high quality and excellence as the Company delivers its three main objectives: performance, participation and development.
The Company has four main works currently being presented: Stage productions A Night’s Game and The Other Side of Me, award-winning film (Re)United and outdoor production BONDED. A new stage production, Far From Home which premiered Autumn 2022. Alleyne Dance has recently choreographed on high profile commissions for renowned Martha Graham Company (USA), Phoenix Dance Company (UK), and the Mayor of London’s London Borough of Culture 2022. Other recent commissions include the 2019 Bench commission with 2Faced Dance Company. AD was also featured in March 2022 British GQ magazine.

Prior to AD Kristina worked as a dance artist in companies such as Akram Khan Company, Ultima Vez, Retina, Arthur Pita and Tavaziva to name a few. Kristina was Choreographic Associate for Marvel, film being released 2023.

Class description
t
his is a physical Contemporary Class, which will involve strong, complex and technical sequences in and out of the floor, focusing on quality, initiation, performance and stamina. Throughout the sessions, improvisation will also be explored as part of self development, stemming from a physical intention.

The significant factors for the class are to develop the dancers’ physicality, flexibility, technique, build awareness for textures in movement, stimulate the creative mind, driving from passion, musicality and honesty.
