Emanouela Merdjanova
Emanouela graduated The National Ballet School in Bulgaria and has been a professional ballet dancer for nearly 20 years.
She worked at the National Opera and Ballet – Bulgaria, the Jeune Ballet du France, Ballet du Capitol Toulouse – France, Finnish National Ballet, and most recently the Dutch National Ballet where she stayed the longest and worked her way up though the ranks from Corps de ballet to Soloist. She has worked with many of the leading ballet choreographers and figures including Natalia Makarova, Alexei Ratmanski, Hans van Manen, Christopher Wheeldon, Krzystof Pastor, Wayne Eagling, Sir Peter Wright, Frank Andersen and many others.
In her repertoire are the leading roles of Clara in The Nutcracker, Aurora and Blue Bird in Sleeping Beauty, leads in Shostakovich Trilogy and Souvenir d’un lieu Cher from Alexei Ratmanski and many, many more.
Next to her dancing Emanouela obtained a ballet teaching diploma from the Vaganova Academy in Amsterdam, sought a Polstar Pilates Comprehensive education, and Nutrition Certificate authorized through Stanford University.
Emanouela is teaching regularly ballet classes for the Junior company of the Dutch National Ballet and from the season 2019-2020 she is also assisting as a ballet mistress. Emanouela also teaches the Bachelor level of classical ballet at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam.
