Dimitar Bodurov
Dimitar Bodurov is a Bulgarian jazz pianist / composer / producer, currently based in Amsterdam (NL). His solid background in both jazz improvisation and classical composition in combination with love for folklore and electronica shaped his authentic musical signature.
As a pianist Dimitar has been actively performing throughout the Netherlands and Europe as a leader, collaborator and guest. Bodurov has received few awards the most recent of which is a mention at the Martial Solal Jazz Solo Piano Competition 2010.
Bodurov is an author of several CD albums. His Bodurov trio CD “Stamps from Bulgaria” 2008 was selected in the prestigious Dutch journal Volkskrant top 10 releases from The Netherlands. His latest release for Challenge Records Bodurov trio “Seven Stamps” 2013 is featuring the celebrated Bulgarian kaval player Theodosii Spassov. www.bodurovtrio.com
As a composer Bodurov has written mostly chamber works in variable settings. He has received commissions from the Gergiev Festival Rotterdam, Sofia Music Weeks, Musique Classique Amiens, LeineRoebana Dance group, Operadagen Rotterdam and Holland Festival. For more info see his website below
