About the Workshop Urban Contemporary Repertoire & Creation
this workshop is focused on Urban/Contemporary techniques like improvisation, musicality, stamina, and the challenge to search for your own creativity. Dancers in the workshop are challenged to visit different tasks, musicality, creativity, and different aspects of the contemporary and urban dance styles in which the main directions are individuality and expression. To dive deeper into the language, Emma will teach repertoire from various projects and work on new material with the dancers, applying her creation methods. T
Emma Evelein
is a Dutch choreographer / dancer / teacher, she graduated at the Urban/Contemporary department of the Theaterschool Amsterdam, As a dancer she has worked with companies in Europe and Israel and trained with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and Batsheva Dance Company. She now she has her own company and creates choreographies for theatre, film and music video. In 2018 she won the prizes at Amsterdans 2018, the KURT JOOSS choreographic Preis (Germany), and in 2019 was awarded the title of Emerging choreographer at Springboard 2020. In 2021,together with Remy Tilburg she won the NDT partnership award at RIDCC 2021. They are invited to choreograph for the company in 2022.
