Tycho Hupperets
Tycho started his dance education at the Vakopleiding Dans in his hometown of Maastricht (NL). He then joined the Prix de Lausanne (CH) in 2007, where he was offered a scholarship by the Heinz Bosl Stiftung. This enabled him to study under the mentorship of the late Alexandr Prokofiev at the Ballettakademie München (DE). After graduation in 2007, he pursued his ballet career with the Dutch National Ballet, where he performed soloist roles in the works of a.i. Cherkaoui, Neumeier, Ratmansky, and Wheeldon.
After his experience at the Dutch National Ballet (where he remains a frequent guest artist), a persistent curiosity that extends beyond the field of ballet led him to explore more contemporary artistic environments. After having studied Photography at the Royal Academy of The Hague, Tycho danced with ICK Dans Amsterdam (Emio Greco / P.C. Scholten), and worked as a freelance dancer with a.i. Nacera Belaza and Eric Minh Cuong Castaing.
Since 2022, Tycho holds a BA in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
