HJS Summer Intensive 2023
Monday 10 July – Friday 28 July
With a broad program of activities, the Amsterdam Summer Intensive 2023 offers you a great dance experience in one of the world’s most beautiful and cultured cities. During these 3 weeks you can take classes and workshops in a diverse range of styles and techniques, ranging from repertoire to co-creation and improvisation- see the list below. Also there will be informal sharings each Fridays, possibilities to share your work in the weekly Summer Solos program. Watch performances at the Julidans Festival, Over het IJ Festival, and the Vondelpark Open Air Theater Meet and network with your international colleagues in the weekly Get-Together’s with drinks and snacks. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

The Summer Intensive program is organized for professional-level dancers and students in their last years of a dance academy or professionally-oriented school. To join workshops you must make an account and share with us your dance video and biography. (This will be possible when the registration is open). We will approve your participation if you have the level required for your chosen workshop(s).
So make sure you already have that beautiful dance video set up & ready!!

Class & Workshop fees
For our Daily Classes (open class schedule) we use Blossom, so make sure to create an account at https://hjs.blossomstudio.app/
Each day there will be several Open Classes of 1,5 hours each. Class price is € 11,- for a Single Class, €50,- for a 5 Class Card, or € 90,- for a 10 Class Card. These Cards are strictly for own use, non refundable, non transferable & valid until the end of 2023.
The HUPass gives you unlimited access to the Open Classes (not for workshops and Masterclasses), The HUPass (HeavyUsersPass) is strictly for own use, non refundable, non transferable, good for 30 consecutive days. Price € 250,
After making your purchase, you must sign yourself in for the specific classes you would like to take. Please, if you already have an account make sure to login in using your email (not via Facebook or Google).
We strongly recommend signing up and paying in advance for the open classes, to make sure you will have a spot. If you are doubting to take which class, please arrange that you have set up your account already in advance. This saves a lot of time and will avoid cueing at the reception desk in the mornings.
5 days workshops will last between 2,5 – 5 hours, prices vary from 190 – 215 – 255 per workshop
Location
The Summer Intensive open classes and most of the workshops will be held at the Chassé Studios in Amsterdam, house of HJS, located in Amsterdam-West, and some workshops will take place in studios in the neighbourhood.
