Evangelos Poulinas
– holds an MFA in dance from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, a Diploma from the Athens State School of Dance and a Bachelor from the Physical Education Department, Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki.He has been credited with scholarships from numerous prestigious foundations, such as Alexandros S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, New York University, Greek State Scholarship Foundation and DanceWEB Europe.As a creator, Evangelos has shown work in the U.S.A., Canada and Europe and as a performer, he has danced creations by Johannes Wieland, Maxine Doyle, Katarzyna Gdaniec and Marco Cantalupo, Marcel Leemann, Constanza Macras, Konstantinos Rigos, Nigel Charnock, Jasmin Vardimon and Wim Vandekeybus among others.
As a teacher, Evangelos has taught contemporary technique, partnering and community dance classes in Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Turkey, U.S.A. and Sweden. Evangelos is currently a faculty member of Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria and a co-founder of “b12” in Berlin. Since 2010, Christina and Evangelos co-direct “one small step” International Contemporary Dance Festival in Urban Environment, Corfu in Greece.

In the class the participants are encouraged to take risks and explore their physicality, and to use their strengths to challenge their weak points.The class starts with mobilizing and stretching exercises and builds gradually to floor work and then on to very physical and dynamic phrases.
