About the Workshop:
Sofia will be assisted by Adriano Popolo Rubbio & Paolo Piancastelli (dancers of Wabi Sabi), and will dive further into a movement research session….to offer a sense of the whole in a physical and sensorial way through the exploration and therefore the discovery of new possibilities with our bodies. In KOMOCO research, this practice takes the name of Kreaturistic Character (KC) as we connect to the creature that we are – that we just forgot about – which consequently brings more awareness to our unique artistic individuality to be expressed in endless ways through a series of games and guided improvisational tasks. The laboratory ends with the sharing and learning of sections from KC choreographic repertoire, which has been widely presented in Italy, Spain, Albania, Germany, USA, Hungary, Kosovo and Canaria Islands.
Sofia Nappi
International choreographer and dancer from Italy, graduated from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (New York) to then deepen her studies with Hofesh Shechter and in Tel Aviv, where she is currently a member of the Gaga teacher training program, learning Ohad Naharin’s movement language. Interpreter of works signed by internationally renowned artists including Sita Ostheimer, Jon Ole Olstad, Alvin Ailey, Brice Mousset, Alessio Silvestrin, Sidra Bell, Netta Yerushalmy, Juel D. Lane, Clifton Brown, Earl Mosley, Robert Moses.Sofia is the artistic director and co-founder of her project KOMOCO, generously supported by the historic Ass. Sosta Palmizi. Their very first creation won the 3rd prize at the Netherlands Choreography Competition 2018.
