About Nicola Hepp from The Movers Amsterdam

Nicola is an award winning choreographer and movement director and the founder of The Movers Dance for Film. With an extensive background in dance, she holds a Master in Choreography and New Media with a focus on screendance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Nicola creates choreography and casts dancers for commercials and films and also directs her own dance films. Nicola is currently concluding a research project about how to combine dance and film to invoke kinesthetic empathy in the viewer, supported by Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds/Horizon.

About the workshop:

Presenting yourself online and sending audition videos is now often the reality instead of attending live auditions. Even though we are all used to seeing short clips on social media and we are all able to film with our mobile phones, it is still wise to have some guidance on how to show yourself at you best in a dance video. What makes your video stand out from the rest?

In this workshop, we will look at examples that you bring in, previous audition videos or one that you make specifically for this workshop and discuss how we can improve them for a future occasion. We will work hands-on and practice with each other. Between the first and the second session, participants are asked to work on a task themselves or as a group.

There will be time for personal feedback from the group and the teacher.
