2020-15 Inspire by Fighting Monkey Practice

Workshop description:

Fighting Monkey is an applied practice for human development through movement founded by Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Frucek. Since 2002 Linda and Jozef have been developing it through a deep study on cross motion analysis and with aim to understand the principles of the human movement, communication and the ageing process.
The workshop is focused on fostering independence and ability to take responsibility for your own development. Through open games – movement situations we will aim to provoke your creativity and ingenuity while being exposed to irregularity, difficulty and pressure in a changing, unpredictable environment.
We will challenge your speed, memory, ability to cooperate, coordinate and make decisions when everything goes wrong.
We will help you to understand underlying sub-coordinative patterns of human motion in order to develop mobility and improve your ability to become more rhythmic and coordinated.
We will provide you with guidelines on how to increase the health of your spine, your joints and connective tissue in various contexts and how you can become more versatile in your approach to joint preparation and warm-ups prior to training and performance.
We focus on active learning through problem solving. To learn how we learn and how to build relational patterns and encourage autonomy and self expression.
