Jiri will lead a 3-days workshop on the principles governing Crystal’s repertoire and choreographic methodology.

Jiri Pokorny
was born in Prague, Czech Republic in 1981, and studied at the Prague National Dance Conservatory . After his graduation, Jiri joined Laterna Magika in Prague, three years later he joined NDT2 in The Hague and continued his carrier with NDT1.  He has worked with many renowned choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Crystal Pite and many others. After NDT Jiri has danced in KiddPivot Frankfurt under the leadership of Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite where he completed his carrier as a dancer. Jiri has performed in prestigious theatres world wide, such as Paris Opera, Sadler’s Wells London, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro Liceu Barcelona, Joyce Theatre New York and many many others.

As a choreographer, Jiri started creating his own works at the annual choreography workshop of NDT “Switch” – from dancer to choreographer and since then he has been making new works continuously. Since his international recognition Jiri has made works for Netherlands Dans Theater 2, Ballet Theater Basel, North West Dance Project ( Portland Oregon ), Aterballetto, Nationaltheater  Mannheim, Budapest Dance Theatre, Prague Chamber Ballet and Korzo Productions in The Hague.

Jiri’s educational engagement has also its importance due to a numerous collaborations with dance schools such as Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Juilliard School in New York, Arts Umbrella Vancouver, NDT’s Summer Intensive and Architanz ( Tokyo ). Jiri directs his own educational program for young choreographers The Pioneer Project in Korzo Theatre, The Hague.

Incomplete registrations will not be accepted, if this is the case you will be notified by email.
