Hofesh Shechter Company is one of the world’s leading dance companies. The choreographer’s dynamic movement style blending contemporary and urban dance is unique.In this workshop you will share repertory and process from Hofesh Shechter’s piece ‘Grand Finale’. A creation with the strength, flow and authenticity that permeates Hofesh’s work.
Yeji Kim, originally from Korea, where she studied at the Korea National University of Arts, she moved to London to the London Contemporary Dance School to finish her education.
She Joined Hofesh Shechter Company as an apprentice in 2009 and became full-time in 2010. She performed in; In your rooms, The Art of Not Looking Back, Political Mother, Political Mother: The Choreographer’s Cut, Last of His Act (as dancer/choreographer), Sun, Orphée et Eurydice (Royal Opera House production), barbarians, Grand Finale.
She also worked with K-Arts Dance Company in New York in 2008 and in San Francisco in 2009. She also performed in the Critic’s Choice of Korean Young Artists in 2009 and received the Golden Prize in the 38th Dong-A Dance Competition in Korea.
Yeji taught at the HJS Summer Intensive previously in 2016.
